Gum Health Day 2018 on May 12 sought to raise public awareness of the importance of periodontal health to general health.
Using the slogan “Health begins with healthy gums” the European Federation of Periodontology and its affiliated national societies of periodontology organised events and media activities to highlight the importance of healthy gums.
In Denmark, the Gum Health Day 2018 was promoted by the Dansk Parodontologisk Selskab at the premises of University of Copenhagen and at the 2018 Kapsejladsen at Aarhus University. As part of the activities we talked about periodontal diseases and oral hygiene. Brochures, toothbrushes and toothpastes were distributed among the participants.
